What makes hours eligible?
How we determine which hours qualify for capacity testing recommendations.
← Back to PlantsWeather and pressure bounds
An hour is eligible when dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure all fall within the allowed ranges for your plant and season. These bounds are derived from your rated conditions and the test window rules (e.g., ECO MAX segment).
Pressure percentiles
We use historical pressure data for your plant's location to compute percentiles (e.g., p05–p95). Hours where the forecast pressure is outside the acceptable percentile range are marked ineligible, so recommendations favor conditions that are historically representative.
Test window
A recommended window requires a consecutive block of hours (e.g., 2 or 4) that are all eligible. The rolling average of the correction factor over that block is used to rank windows. Only windows that meet the full test window length are shown as recommended.
Season
Summer and Winter use different rated conditions and possibly different bounds. The active season is determined by your plant's timezone so that recommendations align with PJM seasonal rules.
